Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club

WELCOME! This website is dedicated to providing information and results for the Port Malabar 3-Gun Match. Please join us the 3rd Saturday of the month for the match, unless the weather conspires against us! Make sure to check this website for updates on upcoming matches.

Speed limit on all range property is 10 MPH and is strictly enforced. Port Malabar is a cold range and unflagged weapons can only be handled at designated "SAFE AREA" tables or under command of a Range Officer, NOT AT YOUR VEHICLE. Weapons must arrive at the range either bagged or flagged. 3-Gun carts are allowed, but weapons must be flagged in the carts. Ammo is NOT allowed on safe tables. Also, when in the Action Bay Area, eye protection is mandatory at all times, regardless if you are shooting or just watching. Safety is our first concern, with fun following a close second!

We are "primarily" a 3-Gun match (Rifle, Shotgun and Pistol) with all the divisions we all know and love, BUT we also allow Non 3-Gun competition! We use our own 2 shots on targets, "D" hits do not count, steel must fall, scoring system. This way accuracy is needed as well as speed.

In the Non 3-Gun category, we allow .22 Rimfire (both pistol and rifle), pistol caliber carbine and pistol only. You may also come out and just shoot 2 Guns instead of all 3! These "restrictions" (or lack there of) mean you can pretty much bring that gun (or guns) you have not shot for a while and do so! Stages are adjusted so all shooters compete with the same amount of points, but may not be shooting the same targets. An example would be Clay Birds for shotgun; these can not be engaged with a rimfire or pistol caliber round (due to damaging the stands), but a paper target would be placed near by for that division to shoot at, equaling the same point value. These Divisions shoot in the Non 3-Gun Category, meaning not directly in competition with the actual 3-Gunners. So drag out whatever you have and come on out!!!

PMRPC now has STEEL Shoot matches! These are held the 1st Saturday of every month. Go to www.pmrpcipsc.com for more details.

Our Next Match is September 20th - There is not an October Match

Sign up will open at 8:30am with walk-thru at 9:00am. Match fees are $10 for PMRPC members and $15 for non-members. Active LEO and Military shoot for free and Juniors shoot for free. You do NOT have to be a member of USPSA or PMRPC to shoot the match!!!

We will have 4 or 5 challenging stages. For 3-Gun, you will need a minimum of 50 Shotgun shells, 100 rifle and 50 pistol, but always bring extra for re-shoots or extra shots! This will be the standard load out for most matches. If special ammo (like slugs or buck shot) is needed for an upcoming match that information will be provided on this website. The Non 3-Gun, divisions like Pistol Caliber Carbine, .22 Rimfire (Pistol or Rifle) or Pistol only should plan on 150 rounds minimum.

Latest Match

I would like to thank all those who helped make this happen. A big thanks to DeBee on repairs; Frank and Steve on setup, Frank for papering (and picking up my slack!), Steve for sign up, and Kelly for scores! Without this help these matches would not happen. MAKE SURE TO THANK THEM IN PERSON!!!!

Also, another great job on clean-up (sounds like last month but true!). It was hot and with everyone pitching in makes things go MUCH faster... And we beat the rain! Thanks!

Let's get to the scores!! Here are the results broken down into 3-Gun, Non 3-Gun and Combined (just for reference):

PMRPC Non 3-Gun Aug 2014.pdf

Again, thanks for coming out and hope to see everyone (and more) back next month.

These Divisions and Restrictions have no effect on Non 3-Gun shooting!!!

In ALL division, you are not allowed to add or take-off items during the match once you have fired your first shot with that weapon. The one exception is changing chokes in a shotgun between stages; this is allowed.

Last, slings on Long Guns are allowed as well as lanyards on pistols, BUT many multi-gun stages require you to leave a weapon on a table or dump barrel so plan accordingly! We do NOT sling HOT weapons

Weapons must be flagged to be handled away from the Safe Tables. PMRPC considers flagged and bagged weapons to be the same, but please handle with caution!
